I talk about some current media ministers, and how some of them are good and bad examples of being stewards for God. While there are a few wayward media ministers, there are some positive examples and excellent role-models, such as James Dobson of "Focus on the Family."

Last TV show, Feedback:
I talked with Ben Clifton, a fellow believer, and leader of a Portland chapter of RTB (http://www.reasons.org/chapters/portland/index.shtml). He grew up thinking "religion is stupid." Evolution & science gave him answers to the wonders of the universe. Then he became a believer, and now he sees God in His creation. Same creation, but two different ways to view it.

Is religion stupid? Yes and no. Yes, in that religion (works to impress God), good works, and philosophy is worthless for dealing with our sin. The only solution for sin is the one God provided: Christ's death on the cross. If you're trying to earn God's love through religion or good works, then you don't understand grace, and the relationship that God wants to have with you (as a child with God the Father, and as a brother with Jesus Christ). This is why we don't push "religion," but rather a "relationship" with God. As you read the Old Testament, this is what God tried to tell us through the prophets; and in the New Testament Jesus Christ made it perfectly clear by His ministry.

I'll also be on cable TV in the Portland area tomorrow, Wed. 7-6-05, from 8:00 - 8:50 pm, on Ch. 11. I'll be talking more about the Gospel (why people should receive it, and if you have, more appreciation for it). Knowing our Lord Jesus will directly impact your life, for the better. Our Lord Jesus called us the salt and light of the earth. What would the world be like, without salt or light? Yup, bland and dark!

Matthew 5 (the Lord Jesus talking):
13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. "
